My Favorite Nativity Set

Thursday, December 15, 2011

I found this Nativity Set at a little stationery store in Manhattan Beach called Christie several years ago.  I love the white, worn wood look and the simplicity of just having the three angels, two lambs and Baby Jesus.  I have seen many others but this one remains my favorite.

Do you have one on display?  My next set will be something my kids can play with hopefully.  However, my 4-year-old loves taking Jesus out of this manger and rocking him and so far so good on not breaking anything!

Turquoise and Red Holiday Party Mantel

Monday, December 12, 2011

In my quest to find anything Christmas in turquoise and red, I came across an incredibly crafty blog titled Tatertots and Jello.  Jen featured an inexpensive way to decorate your mantel for the holidays and I thought it was worth sharing.  Although the decor is adorable, my favorite part of the room is the turquoise ladder with the advent numbers strung on it.  I absolutely would love to do this next year.  I love original ideas for advent calendars and this is my favorite so far.

Coastal Christmas Trees and Linen Tree Skirts

Monday, December 13, 2010

This year I will be honest...my tree looks like a three-year-old decorated it because, well, my three-year-old did decorate it! So in lieu of a perfectly decorated tree sitting in my living room (although I must say I love that her little hands hung all of the ornaments), I found these beach inspired Christmas trees that absolutely warm my heart. I also saw a few cute tree skirts in linen, wicker and burlap that I thought I would share as well. In the future I would love to have a linen tree skirt in cream...if only I could sew. :)

So first for the trees. Here are my top picks from Coastal Living:

And from Martha Stewart....

Here are the tree skirts in linen, wicker and burlap...

And how cool is this wicker tree skirt from Terrain that I saw on the Remodelista?

That's it for tonight. Can you believe Christmas is only 12 days away?

La La Linen's First Giveaway from Indobay Inc.!

Sunday, December 5, 2010

I am so excited to announce La La Linen's first giveaway! Banners are one of my favorite ways to decorate for just about anything and when I saw this holiday banner on Indobay Inc. I knew this was the perfect item for our first holiday gift.

The banner is made out of felt & linen and block printed in black ink for the perfect, modern, homespun holiday feel. The text reads:

*happy home
*homespun holiday
*festive
*peace on Earth
*joy
*joyeux noel
*whimsy and dreams
* good cheer
*merry merry

I can see this hanging in many styles of homes making the season even just a little bit more magical.
