Bennison Wallpaper

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

The incredible Bennison company now has wallpaper to accompany their gorgeous linen fabrics. I saw this spread designed by Windsor Smith in the December/January issue of House Beautiful. I love the Roses pattern and the tranquil, sophisticated and almost modern feel it gives this dining room is only something the finest of fabrics can do with such ease.

Sailboat by Cotton Bird Designs

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Check out this amazing sailboat made by Cotton Bird Designs. The hull is made from recycled book pages and the sails are from hand dyed vintage linens and grain sacks. I love the soft blue color and the timelessness of the style.

Shutters New Orleans Style

Ok, I admit...I am a bit obsessed with New Orleans right now. Next week we are heading down to the great state of Louisiana to find a new house to call our home. I have always loved the shutters you find there. As I look at houses for sale I keep asking my husband if they have shutters. (He really doesn't understand my love of them.) Anyway, I decided that you too may love shutters so I want to share some of my favorite photos. These are some pictures I took randomly five years ago.

Shabby Chic Linen Tote by Junk Restore

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

I just found the cutest blog called Junk Restore. Check out the linen tote she made from a $1 thrift store, brown ruffled pillow sham. Again, I wish I knew how to sew. :)

The original sham...

The inspiration...

The final product...

After I admired this tote I checked out her furniture gallery photos. These are the ones I really loved!

Have a great night!

Eclectic Revisited by Maureen Bower and Stylish Blogger Award

Friday, January 14, 2011

I would have written this post earlier but I was traveling and now that I am home I can get back in the swing of things.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Maureen from the blog Eclectic Revisted by Maureen Bower! I am so honored that you named me as one of ypur choices for the Stylish Blogger Award. It means a lot since I love your blog.

Maureen has beautiful style and she keeps her blog updated all the time with new inspiration. Here are some photos from today's post...

Now for 7 tidbits about me...

1. I am married to an incredible guy named Eric. We have two daughters who we are over the moon about - we are blessed.

2. We currently live in Hermosa Beach, California but are moving to New Orleans, Louisiana this April. I am excited but nervous!

3. I love interior design and always have. I "designed" my first home magazine when I was 11 and saved my allowance for a few decorating magazines. I then took them apart, placed photos where I thought looked best, and wrote my own copy. I hope to start my own interior decorating business by the middle of this year.

4. I am so thankful for the blog world - I can't believe how many talented people there are out there! It is also wonderful to write little tidbits about things I love and find out others are of like mind.

5. I am always enrolled in a Bible study - it just keeps me grounded since I tend to worry.

6. I hope to be the poster girl for living a fabulous and healthy life after Thyroid cancer. If you know someone going through it, I am happy to share my experience.

7. I am crazy for everything pale blue and pistachio green, shutters, painted wood floors, anything linen, chunky turquoise necklaces, pearl earrings, cocktail rings, cashmere scarves, down - slipcovered sofas, Spanish, New Orleans Inspired or Cape Cod architecture, crystal chandeliers, the perfect gray paint, good food, rich chocolate, red wine, sushi, quality coffee, girlfriends, and family, family, family.

Here are the blogs that I am naming as my favorites for the Stylish Blogger Award.

The Bella Cottage

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Here are some beautiful photos from The Bella Cottage. I love The Bella Cottage story...when looking for furniture for her own home, Michelle Aspesi could not find the high quality "shabby" pieces she desired. So, Michelle found a quality craftsman to create the look she desired out of superior materials. When she bought bedding and linens online for her home, she placed the extra ones she did not use on ebay. Soon, customers were asking more questions about the furniture the bedding was displayed on than the bedding itself. That is how Bella Cottage was born - how fantastic is that? I love their romantic cottage style. Here are my favorites...
