My dear friend recently had a darling baby boy and although there are about a million perfect baby gifts available to buy out there, I really wanted to make something for her because she has made me so many beautiful gifts for my girls.
Here are a few of our favorites that she has made us...

Bird bow holder...
And the beloved butterfly blanket and burp cloths...
So, when it came time for me to make something, I realized that sewing wasn't an option...I tried. Also knitting was out...I needed more time to learn than nine months apparently. :(
I decided on a no sew baby blanket and got all the directions I needed here.
This is the final result. I opted for a larger size so it could be used as a play mat.
Then I added a few store bought items, got a canvas bag monogrammed, wrapped a wooden toy in linen, hand-stamped linen and attached it to a light blue note card and voila - I had a semi-homemade gift that was from my heart. I still would love to knit but I have a feeling that may be awhile. :)

These is so cute! I cannot believe you made it...actually yes I can! I like giving babies little blanket animals called lovies, they are really soft and cozy and when you don't have enough room to bring a full size blanket, it is the perfect substitution.
